Why I've Been a Neglectful Nelly Lately...

Ok everyone, it would be an understatement to say I have been neglecting this poor ol' blog for the last couple months. I feel bad about it all the time, and wish I could find the time to dedicate to it I once did. I am definitely going to be focusing more on it going forward. It's just been a little hard lately, for a couple reasons. The main one being this:

Yep! That's right! We are the crazy people who will be having 2 under 2...what is wrong with us?!?! I would love some encouragement from other moms of 2 under 2 that it is not as hard as I think it's going to be...right?!

So, since I haven't been feeling that awesome (unless you define a daily chat with the ol' porcelain throne and feeling so exhausted it's hard to get the energy to raise your hand as "awesome"), it's been a tad hard to round up the energy to blog. Plus, Peanut is a lean, mean, attention-seeking machine. He is a busy little dude, and the days of Mommy getting blogging time while he happily coos in his bouncy chair are long gone!

And it's been very hard to come up with things to write without sharing my awesome news with you wonderful people. I am positive any post I would have written would have looked like this:

4 chicken breasts, defrosted
1 jar of salsa
WE ARE PREGNANT!!!!!!
1 can of black beans
shredded cheddar cheese

BUT, enough with the excuses! Onwards and upwards! I am starting to feel better, which means no more slacking for me. Well, at least less slacking...baby steps.

Thanks for sticking through the tough bloggy times with me, dear readers. So very much appreciated.

  2. As a mom of two less than two years apart I can tell you it's really not so bad. I loved having my girls close together, it was great because they were interested in a lot of the same things at the same time. Of course it can be exhausting but I am sure you are there most days anyway and I don't think it changes if your kids are 2,5,or ten years apart. You can do it! Besides you will be too happy and proud to realize just how tired you are ;)

  6. My boys were 17 months a part and it is awesome! I don't know if they were just easy kids, but it's really not that hard. You will do great! Just make sure to take a little ME time every once in while. It will help recharge your battery and make you a better mom. Congrats!!

  13. Congratulations! I had 2 under 2 - my kids are 20 months apart and let me tell you it was the absolute best!
People kept telling me it will be hard at the beginning but then eventually get better when they can play with each other - and yes it did get even better when the younger one was finally walking and able to play with his older sister - but here are few things to keep in mind.
When they are so close in age - they are both still napping - I always had my youngest nap at the same time in the afternoon my oldest was napping at - then I got some time to myself - to make dinner, read or sit on the couch and watch TV as I usually did.
You also don't have one in school yet, so that means you don't have to run around dropping off and picking up a child inturrupting the younger childs nap( that will eventually come - but a few years from now).
Also - you are doing double time on diapers - they are both in them for now - much better to have them both in diapers as opposed to one just getting out of them and then the second just being born and starting the 3 year cycle all over again.

  16. Congratulations!! We recently found out that we're going to be joining the 2u2 crowd, and I'm terrified, so I'll need you to start blogging more, only so you can give lots of tips and advice since you're due two months before me ;-)

    But seriously, congrats! So awesome!
